Cosmetic Dentistry
Technology
Hannibal, Missouri
We pride ourselves on having the most advanced and cutting edge neuromuscular and cosmetic dentistry technology available. We not only have it, but we know how to use it. As an alum of the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), Dr. Charles Janes has been thoroughly trained on all of the latest technology that enables him to give his patients the smile they deserve.
Here are a few of the technologies we have in our office:
CEREC III – Enables Dr. Janes to mill and fit your porcelain veneer, inlay or onlay, 3/4 or full crown tooth restoration during the same visit. CEREC's “Computer-Assisted Design—Computer-Assisted Manufacture" or “CAD-CAM” technology produces a pure ceramic crown while you wait. The laboratory step in the process is eliminated, as is the temporary crown, the impression, and the inconvenience and cost of a second visit
Empress crowns – Porcelain coverings cemented into place over the entire tooth
MAC lab crowns and veneers – Made from pressed ceramic; twice the strength of traditional porcelain and less irritating to living tissues
Diagnodent cavity detection – This laser-assisted cavity detection device finds cavities that traditional x-rays cannot
K-7 jaw tracking – This cutting-edge technology used in the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) allows us to track your jaw movement with pinpoint accuracy
TENS machine – Another TMD treatment tool; we use the Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator (TENS) to relax your jaw muscles and alleviate pain
Zoom AP Plus and Sapphire/Rembrandt Bleaching – The latest in tooth whitening technologies; we use a light-activated gel to brighten your smile up to 12 shades in one hour
Implant restoration – A titanium screw and crown used to restore missing teeth
LVI orthotics – The latest in “occlusal” or “bite” therapy treatment
Soft tissue laser – Used for the painless and suture-free removal of excess gum tissue
Pure Power Mouthguard/The EDGE – Designed for athletes at all levels; helps align and relax muscles in the face to improve muscle recruitment and vertebrae alignment for increased strength and balance
Neuromuscular Dentures – Designed to fit into the jaw in a way that optimizes the way the TMJ interacts with the muscles of your face and neck, as well as the relationship they have with your teeth, these dentures are more natural looking and more comfortable than other dentures. There is a focus on function as well as form with these.
Implant Retained Dentures – Implant retained dentures are effective in retaining an otherwise non-retentive denture. Implant restoring dentist, Dr. Charles Janes, places a titanium screw into a hole drilled directly into the tooth. The titanium will integrate, or attach, into the bone after several months, and the implant is then uncovered and a post that pokes through the gums is attached to the implant. The post can support a porcelain tooth or it may support a denture attachment. If you have no teeth at all, a full mouth of implants may need to be attached to porcelain teeth and bridges. Implanted retained dentures are especially effective in patients who cannot wear lower dentures because the addition of these implants in the front of the lower jaw will make it possible to retain a lower denture. Without the implant, this would be impossible for you to tolerate.
